if someone wants a substantial down payment for work on my car (llike more than 20%) I walk the other way. Too many stories out there about guys going out of business with people's money.

You do the work, then you get paid. Pay as I go, my rules whether it is for a house, an addition or my cars. No big down payments.

I've met Gary and been to his shop many times as that is where the local chapter of the NCRS has held many meetings. Gary and his staff are held in high esteem by every Corvette owner I've met that knows him and his business and we all live here in Denver. No doubt you had a problem with Gary. It happens in business all the time, you can't please everyone. There is always that difficult customer no one in town can please and the bad day the shop owner has. Sorry for your bad luck.
