Welcome to the forum. I don't have an 87 but IMO the best purchase you can make is a FSM. There's little you won't find in there, and those items you can ask here.

A Dark Green wire from the computer connector C pin 15 goes to the EGR Temperature switch.

Wire Connector EGR Temp

There is a plug at the end of a wire near the base of the distributor. It is way down. I had to get long forceps to reach and hold it to connect it.

you are awsome, i would have never found that plug. Used 2 kelly's, one to hold it, one to plug in the wire.
