Birdacage rust damage repair update

I got the car back last week-end and proceeded to put three coats of POR-15 on the outside of the exposed birdcage. I did have some damage repaired at the hinge pillars. Here are before and after pics of the areas.

Next step is to coat the insides of the windshield frame and hinge pillars with a product called CorrosionX. More pics to come.

Yes, it is sitting on a powdercoated Jamison's Custom Corvette tube frame...
 
Looking good! How did you redo the birdcage to get it this far, did you dip it or sandblast it, looks brand new. Looks good on the tube frame also:D

Tom,

I used a rust removing (scouring) wheel with my air tools and a portable sandblasting kit to remove all the paint around the exposed areas of the birdcage. I left no paint or green etching primer per POR-15's instructions. I used the silver version with the metal flakes in it and top coated it with semi-gloss black primer.
 
Thanks for the quick reply, I take it to meen that you used a Die grinder with either the 46 grit green or the maroon gasket remover discs?
