Bizarre light problem!

Had dash apart, replaced bulbs, tach board, speedo cable, put dash back together. Now, turn signal works on one side with headlights off. With headlights on regular or bright, neither turn signal works.

Also, tach and speedo lights don't come on until interior lights are turned on at the headlamp switch - sometimes they don't come on at all.

And finally, when the headlights are turned on, brights come on automatically. When you turn switch them to dim then adjust the interior light brightness to "on", the bright headlights come on again.

What the heck is going on? I replaced the front end, tach, speedo cable, all interior and exterior lights, what is causing this?

Thanks for any help.

I would start with the light switch, the dash lights are controlled with a reostat (when you turn the knob they come on and get brighter) which grounds out the courtesy lights also(white wire) when it is turned all they way. You may have put a wire on wrong or more likely that something in the switch has failed.
BTW the vacuum lines on the switch control the headlight pop ups so be sure to mark where they go

I had some problems with my dash lights not coming on correctly. I turned the dashlight dimmer control from dim to bright a number of times and that fixed it. I just think the inside of the switch was dirty or corroded and working the switch back and forth about 20 times cleaned it off and now makes better contact.
