New black C6. Any advice on keeping it looking like new. Have never had a black car before. Would like to avoid the streaks and swirls I see in so many other black cars.

Keeping a black car clean

Park it in a climate control, air tight garage, wrap in plastic, cover with best car cover money can buy, place in Car Capsule bubble... take pictures of car before hand so you can "admire it" whenever you want. Take out of "package" once per week for light dusting, more pictures (a variety of large photo quality backdrops behind the car will make it look like you're enjoying it), re-wrap. Repeat next week.;LOL ;LOL ;LOL

Ok, so perhaps that is just a slight bit on the extreme side, but I've owned a black car and was not able to keep it clean or avoid the swirl marks. I think it was mostly due to the previous owner, but I was never able to get all the swirls out. Hopefully someone else knows some secrets and will have a better answer for you! Congrats on the new car! I haven't seen a black C6 yet, how about some photos!

The best way is to be cognizant of what touches the paint. Washing, drying, waxing, using quick detail sprays or dusters, anytime something touches the paint, there is the potential to swirl or scratch it. So just read up and examine your methods and tools. :)
