Black-out kits?

I went to Eckler's this weekend and purchased the carbon-fiber tail light louvers and tag thingy, which look really good. On the way home from Eckler's we were behind a black Z-06, which had a blackout kit installed under his black louvers (looked awesome!). Since I had my catalog handy, I looked it up and realized he must have the static-cling black-out kit, since his brakelight and reverse lights were covered. Has anyone had experience with this kit? I'm unsure since it is only $ 13.99 - seems like the quality might not be very good...

Thanks!
Lauren

I had the acrylic blackout kit for my C5. The tail light lenses are held on with adhesive backed velcro. I lost one on the highway, but may not have cleaned my tail light lens well enough. They also collected dirt behind them. I ended up giving up on the idea. I have not tried the cling type.

blackout kits

i used the blackout kit with the little brackets for the front and back and i bought a can of that tint spray it says for off road use only and sprayed my 3rd brake light with it to match the rest of my light's it came out fine. What i also did was get a piece of plexi-glass cut out some circles for my back lights and traced the front pieces on there also and cut them out and sprayed them with the tint spray this way if one pop's out i have replacements for almost nonthing.
