blackwing cleaning question

anyone know where to get the kit without paying $16.00 for the kit and $8.00 for shipping.
is the K&N cleaning kit compatable with the Blackwing?

i doubt it. check at local auto parts stores. and see if they can order it for you.

The K&N kit is NOT compatible with the Blackwing kit. This is because the Blackwing uses a synthetic filter media, whereas the K&N filter uses cotton gauze as it's filter media.
Evidently the cleaner used in the K&N kit will attack the fibers of the synthetic material.
Check around, I am certain that I saw the Blackwing cleaning kit which also included the correct oil, on-line someplace for $15.95, and shipping was about 5 bucks.
Don't try to scrimp by using the incorrect stuff, you will only ruin your Blackwing filter media, and you will then be out a whole lot more. Good Luck.
