What is the best way to drain and bleed the power steering system? I just checked the fluid for the first time since i bought it and it looks green????? 1986 coup

You could disconnect the return hose and drain fluid from the unit. After fluid stops draining, start engine to pump all fluid from rack reservoir. Don't let it run dry too long. Put the line back on and fill the system. To bleed it just turn it all the way to the right then left a few times. About the green fluid;shrug I don't know, it could be synthetic. I think SynLube™ has green ps fluid.

Personally, I just raise the front of the car, disconnect hose nearest the bottom of the system and drain. While engine is shutoff turn the steering slowly from left full lock to right full lock several times until fluid is all out. Connect hose, refill with fluid and turn steering back and forth again, topping off the reservoir as necessary. Lower car, start engine and turn steering back and forth several more times, check the fluid level. The air will purge itself through the system.
