Anyone have experience with the master cylinder on a 1986? I need to replace mine and I already have a new one ready to go but wanted to ask if anyone knows if it needs to be bench bled first. I usually bench bleed master cylinders before installation, but I looked in the factory manual for info and it mentions nothing about bench bleeding. Anyone had experience with this one?

If you're bleeding the system by pumping the pedal, then you should bench bleed.

you should bleed the master before putting it on the car and make sure the cylinder is level during the bleeding process so no air gets trapped steve

Wiil do, Thanks. Just wanted a second opinion before I do it.

Just completed the master cylinder install. Bench bled the master then let it set a while and bench bled again. Repeated this several times until no more air bubbles were present. Installed and bled the system. Job went perfectly!
