This may sound like a stupid question, but does anyone have any suggestions on what I should use for all the nuts and bolts that I need to put the engine accessories (A/C, PS pump, pulleys, intake manifold...) back on? I've carefully kept the old ones together and labeled, but they look like hell! There is no way I'm putting a crudded up, rusty old bolt back on my shiny clean engine!

Am i just stuck to going to Ace Hardware and looking through the bins?

Just be sure the bolt is at least as high strength as the one it is replacing.

And, to help in that regard:

Grade 5 bolts have three hash marks on the head.

Grade 8 bolts have six hash marks on the head.

I generally use generic (ungraded) stainless bolts for non-critical stuff, since they stay looking nice for a long time. Graded stainless bolts get pricey, but they never really rust, so if you want to spend the money, buy some from a company like ARP in the correct grades.

I took one of each to an industrial supply store and got them to match them for size and strength.you can even get hardened chrome if you like.

I just pulled off the stock Aluminum L82 Intake to get it powdercoated (came out great). I ordered new Stainless Steel bolts from Summit, I got 1" :confused . The manifold calls for 1 1/8" or 1 1/4", even ARP sells the 1" bolt. I'm now trying hardware stores...
