Bose Front Speaker replacement

I've replaced my entire bose system. Rear Speakers added a sub and replaced the head unit. Now im going to replace the front speakers. I havent removed the doors yet to check the speaker size. Does anyone know what size speaker is on the front of a 97 coupe automatic? I know there are two speakers per door. Is there a direct fit replacement speaker I can put in? Somone told me its an 8 inch sub with a tweeter on top.. Is this true? or is it a 6 1/2? Thanks

I and a few other people have posted a few threads on this subject. I believe the outcome was a 6-1/2 inverted sub with a tweeter on the backside......or something strange like that.

I believe "fhturner" also re-did his entire system and ran into this problem (don't quote me ). I'll try to find the thread and post the link here so that you'll have the exact info.

Sorry. I gave bad info....it was "torchred" that did a lot of work to his sound system. This thread should give you a little info.

Thanks so it has a 3 1/2 inch speaker and an 8 Inch sub. Is there a full range or sub that will fit in the stock 8 Inch location?

it may be rather late to ask, but where can i get the bose replacement speakers for my passenger door? Maybe someone cant point me in the right direction to get them for a good price?

well jorge, if you still have the door speakers and they work good, i would be willing to take them off of your hands!
