ok, in between the master cyl and brake booster on a '73, there is a rubber diaphram type seal that keeps vaccuum from escaping around the pushrod. NO ONE CARRIES THIS PART, you have to buy a complete friggin booster. Typically, this part doesn't go bad, but mine is torn, and allows vaccuum to escape from the booster. anyone have one? I need it ASAP.

try "the parts place" in the chicago, ill area, try "chicago corvette", try "doc rebuild" in connecticut. not sure any of them will help you, but worth a call or two. when i had a similar problem with my BB 71 el camino, i wound up replacing the booster (i figured it was pretty old at that point and probably wasn't the worst thing i could do, lol).

yeah, a new booster from a local parts store is about $75.00. not too bad. actually, the dealer I bought it from will probably take care of it, as it's a safety item. but if i could just find the part, i'd go with it, although that doesn't seem possible. no one seems to have it, or know what i'm talking about. I usually don't care, but I wanted to keep all the date coding correct, as the car is totally original. oh well.

Try The Last Detail Corvette Shop - Atlanta

I have had great luck with them on hard to find NOS parts.
