My problem is that both brake lights are not working, blubs are good, grounds appear to be good, so what is the common factor that would cause both lights to stop working? This problem was interminent but now the brake lights are out and I can't get them to come on at all, all other lights work fine. What is the single point of failure for both lights? Thanks

Oh yeah is a 76 my car.

Ok after reading someother posts here I went and checked to brake light switch and it appears to be hanging up, after working it in and out a couple times the brake lights worked fine, I guess I will replace the switch, any thing hard about that it appears to be pretty easy?

Answering your own questions so quickly... that's kind of scary. From reading your first post I was about to say it could be your brake switch. Should be an easy change out. Good luck.
