Brake pad question.

The rear pads were replaced on my car about 6 mos. before I bought it and I'm getting ready to do the fronts. The rear pads have a red back and I would like to match the fronts to them. I'm putting on ZR-1 wheels so they will be visible. Does anyone know if there is a particular red backed pad out there? Unfortuneately, the previous owner was no help.

They are a bit expensive compared to others....but they work great, stop the car on a dime kinda great and are dustless...just put on the polished ZR-1 rims and they really stick out.

Eagle, are the pads PG Plus or the ceramic? I know Pep Boys carries them, and I also found them online at Advance Auto Parts. Priced at $102.00 at AAP. Sound about right? Thanks for your help!

Hi

Just make sure that the brake pads have the retaining clips on them so they will snap on. If not they will rattle and drive you crazy.

The previous owner of my vette put on good brake pads, but they didn't have the retaining clips that are used on the Delco pads and they rattled like crazy.

It cost me $300 to replace them with Delcos. The pads were about $200 and the labor was about $100.

They are silent now.

Just picked them up. They are the exact match to the rears. Thanks for the tip, Alan. I checked the box before I bought them, and sure enough, one was missing. You saved me a trip...
