Hi everyone,
I have a 1992 coupe and over the past week noticed the brake pedal at times extremely hard to press down and feeling like the car isn't going to stop. Yesterday I noticed for the first time that if I have the brake pedal pressed down I can hear a fairly loud hissing inside the car like an air leak. I pulled the trim panel off under the dash and the hissing sound is coming from where the rod goes through the fire wall. Any ideas?

you need a brake booster. If it has brake fluid in it you will need master cylinder also.

Surely a vacuum leak. Open the hood to get a closer ear (listen/look) to ensure it's not the hose or fitting, but the booster itself. :w

Any suggestions on where to get or what manufacturer on the brake booster?

Brake booster replaced and back on the road. The pedal doesn't engage as high as I'd like it to but we have brakes again! Thank you!!!
