Brake problem.

Thanks again Dustoff!

I appreciate all your help.

Over and out, (going out).

BTW, I spose you were in Vietnam? If so thanks for serving! I was in the AF on F-111's for 8 years. 82-89. Got out as an E6. I left because they made me fly a desk instead of working the jets and that was completely unacceptable to me so I went to DAL and worked big jets for 20 years. LOVED EVERY second of it.

The AF would not work with me. Would have given me a $15,000 bonus but I said hell no, either I work jets or I'm outta here. When you reach a certain rank I guess you're supposed to drink coffee and do paperwork all day. That drove me nuts. I HAD to turn wrenches.

Paul, you're a man after my own heart. I NEED to be fixing something (not pushing papers)
myself! Was a manager for a short time and didn't like it very much. I went back into
repairing the computers and am MUCH happier. Don't know what I would do if I couldn't
fix things........! I don't even like to think about it. Anyways, good luck with your
problems (brakes AND personal), and keep us posted on what the brake problems turn out to be.

Bearings.. No the outers just pop out when you take the nut off, the inners are held by a seal.. teh NAPA guys will (should) give them a good hard look....

Charlie
C4's have sealed Bearing/Hub Assembly's front and rear and do not come apart like the older conventional type bearings!!:thumb There Not Serviceable!:thumb Just Replaceable!!:D

Sorry!;shrug

Thanks Junk! MAN are you well-versed on the C4! I will let ya'll know tomorrow. I drove it a little while ago and it was fine. Very odd. I even jammed on the brakes, jammed on them with no hands on the wheel and it kept straight, I dunno, but they definitely need to be turned and pads replaced. I am now receiving the e-mails from the CAC! Anyway, I will make sure I post my results.

Thanks guys!

And...God bless.

Hey Navy. I know EXACTLY what you mean. If I don't get a wrench in my hands every once in a while I go nuts. ;LOL

I just built a computer from scratch. It is pretty cool to be able to do that. I learned a lot along the way, BIOS, O/C'ng, you name it. It is super fast now and I gotta tell ya, if I had seen this PC when I got my first computer way back in 1982, an Atari 800 with a WHOPPING 16K!!! I would have flipped.

I used to type in BASIC programs from a magazine. That's how I learned BASIC. Then wait till next month's issue for corrections! :rotfl

Ah, those were the days, it seemed like I had zillions of hours of time. All I did was play Infocom games, STILL DO!

Good to hear from ya! :beer

Oh, and Navy, thank YOU too for serving in Vietnam. I remember watching it when I was a kid. I am 50 now but it is still vivid. Unlike a lot of people, I appreciate what the Vietnam vets did for us and it is very unfortunate how they were treated. But, I appreciate them. Anytime I see a Vietnam vet I shake his hand and tell him personally that there's at least one American who is proud of ya'll.

'cause I wasnt "Christian enough!" HARDEST thing I have ever dealt with!

'enough'??? :confused

You are, or you are not - there's no 'degrees', and you KNOW if so, unlike George Bush, when asked by a 5 year old girl in Fla in '01, to which he replied, "I guess so".

:eyerole

You don't guess. You know, just like you know you are G Bush.

Yeah, how sad for her. No one can force someone to come to the Lord. What a pity.

Hi fellas!

Brake update.

NAPA service center. Today. The guys were so cool they let me help, it was like old times! Like being back in the hangar! I loved every minute of it!

Had slotted (yes slotted, I don't think the 94 C4's came with them) rotors turned. They had never been turned before, ever. I could tell because the holes and slots still had the concave grooves in them. No problem turning on lathe.

Brand new AC/Delco OEM pads. The others were worn down pretty badly and I am a VERY light braker, I anticipate a mile ahead and modulate my speed.

Also the fluid, it was nasty brown so they drained it completely and flushed it and put in nice new clear fluid.

I got to pump the brakes and help bleed all four.

Results:

In my opinion NAPA did an outstanding job. I was quite impressed, I will be doing the rears myself soon as I only had them do the fronts because I needed a complete flush, plus they have a 12,000 mile or 12 month warranty. I'll hit 12 months WAY before 12K. ;)

Driving:
Perfect :thumb:thumb:thumb

No groaning, nothing, great stopping, I am VERY pleased.

Just thought I'd let you know.

Man, I gotta tell you, I LOOOOOOOOOVVVVVVE Corvettes!!!!!!!
:upthumbs:thumb;):beer:cool:w:w:w:w:w
