Thank you very much for that clarification in regard to the differences between the 2 tires. The reason for comparing the 2 was not a great reason I suppose. A good friend of mine has the Potenza RE730's on his '94 convertible and I thought that they were a really nice tire. Wanting to do a little comparison shopping before purchasing, I had come across Discount Tire Direct and found the KDWS tires within the same price range. (thanks for pointing out the difference, though). Tire Rack has the Potenza's for $160.00 for the front and $185.00 for the back; I thought that was a pretty fair price. As far as the reasoning behind not wanting to use Jap tires, well...I'm sure it sounds strange to some, but I have a hard time with the thought of putting a Jap tire on an American sports car (no flames, please). That is solely my opinion/feeling and does not mean that the Jap tires are inferior in any way, it's more of an "image" thing with me I guess. An American sports car with American tires, that's all.

Any reason you why you are trying to compare an All-Season performance tire to a non All-Season Performance tire? Is cost an issue?
Is getting as much mileage out of your tires an issue?
The All-Season KDWS will have less traction in the dry than the RE730. The KDWS has a Treadware rating of 400. That's pretty high for a tire that's expected to have high grip in the dry. FYI, the S on teh end of KDWS refers to SNOW. Sounds to me like you would be better off with the RE730 which has a rating of 300. I have driven on All-Season performace tires and they don't compare to true Performance tires when driven at the limit. I could not even come close to pushing it as hard as I did with the Performance tires. If you have enough funds take a look at the KDW. This tire compares more on the level of the RE730 but does cost more. Not sure why you don't like Kumhos but thier MX tire is a very good buy and has excellent grip, wear and low cost.
I know exactly what you mean about the GSC's on their now. When they let go, they let go with no warning.
