Broken throttle body vacuum line

When I pulled the throttle body off on my 89, the vacuum line broke at the Y connection. The line is on the driver side.

Here is a pic:

The line broke off at the Y that goes from the throttle body. Another line goes to this Y piece from the plug thing under the Plenum below the throttle body. They connect at the Y and a single line goes up the driver side to the front bumper.

Any ideas on how to fix this? I'm guessing this is just a basic Y junction?

About the only thing I can think of is to cut the Y off, and maybe putting on some rubber boots to the lines and connect them with a typical Y piece like in this pic:

Seems no one can help you with your problem and I can't either. My car's a Vette and doesn't have the lines you're referring to. Consider this a bump, hoping someone will chime in.

That WILL work!!!:thumb:thumb:thumb

I think i saw the exact 'y' connection at a PepBoys store.

I don't have one of those around, so I'll have to stick with Autozone or Advance Auto Parts, or Napa. I do have an independant auto parts store I can look at as well.

Well, I was out of town and stopped by a Pepboys, but they didn't have anything like that Y piece.

Any vacuum line 'T' or 'Y' will work, as long as it seals, and as long as it doesn't have a check valve/flow switching function, like you noted...

I broke a tb vac line too, the one that hooks on the bottom of the tb, I can't tel where it connects on the plastic housing on the water neck:mad

I ended up getting a replacement Y piece from a parts car. I told the guy to give me the vac line from the throttle body and solenoid that ties in at the Y and then runs as a single line up to the front of the car.

Anyways, he sent me the Throttle body line and solenoid line that connects to the Y, then that goes to one line and is cut off at 3 inches or so later. So I guess, I'll just cut the Y thing off my car, then connect that single line to my new Y piece thing via a soft vac line I have laying around.

It will look a little modded with that soft vac line connecting the two pieces together, but probably will look better than a modded up Y piece.

I would like to just pull that single 3" line out of the new Y piece and pop in the old single line. That way it will all look stock, but it looks like that part of the line is molded into the Y, versus just being stuck in it like the others are.
