Help, I have a 96 LT4 Coupe and the throttle cable broke at the throttle body,I do not have the GM books so it took a bit of work to take the cable housing off the cruise control box and the cable housing will seperate in two pieces by spreading the ears apart. There is a square button that you can push down so you can pull the center out( I assume so the lead barrell will pass thru), but it is not coming out. Do I have to buy the whole new housing (two parts?) The local Chevy dealer said I would have to order the cables as it was almost 6 PM tonight and he wanted to go home. I wanted the part#and price.

I fixed it and I was suprised that no one even answered my post. Am I the only member with out a GM manual?

Well I do not have a C-4 and you are , err maybe now you are the only member,

Am I the only member with out a GM manual?

I ordered mine yesterday (GM Manual) from Fichtner

Drive on!

Thanks for the lovely information. There are Two books from GM on the 96 LT4 but not all of us are Big Spenders money is tight now as our Daughter just passed away and we spent everything helping the Grandkids.

Sorrry for your loss and I hope you doing as well as can be expected.

Not really a big spender, just that the local dealer here wants $85.00 just to have someone look at something, then you can schedule an appointment for more cost.

I have had some issues with mine, gas door won't latch. I have finally found the problem I believe, but it took some research and help from a few here on the forum, Still what I like to have is some sort of diagram or details on how to disassemble something.

I have the door actuator which was $77.00 as I did not go the $85.00 route.

So I opted to finally obtain a set of manuals, they are a 3 book set and were $131.00 with shipping so hopefully they will pay for themselves shortly.

Thank's for you nice reply. on Digital Corvette one of the sponsors answered on every post(he has a c5) with a smart little reply so you could see his company logo and he did not have a C4 or a clue on how to repair one. When I posted this fact I was banned from there site. Sorry if I came off like a jerk as I am not my self right now. I had to sell both of my Sport Bikes to help the Grandkids as they live with us now so now my LT4 sets out side. I posted a new topic on who makes the best car cover. That was the money I was going to buy the two GM books and have my starter motor rebuilt for my Vette. Oh well maybe next month I can afford it.
