My Speculation for CFOUR and everyone else to contemplate:
Preface: Hello, my name is Kevin Weisert. I am 16 years old and I am in NO way involved with General Motors or any of it's employees. I am not an insider nor do I have any contacts within the Auto industry.
I consider myself a "speculation Artist". I think beyond what we are told or what most people think is happening. I take all the little bits of information floating around and I can piece them together inside my head and come up with a pretty accurate picture of how things will look. I am here to share my thoughts, guesses, and views on this coming C6 and to get people to see things the way I see them happenning.
BODY:
I think that GM has done a fantastic job with the camouflage techniques used on the C6. They have made a few small mistakes during these past few months, mistakes that don't really seem like a big deal to GM and everyone else, but if you really study the spy photos, these overlooked mistakes point out underlying, very signifigant things that GM had no intention of showing.
You see when most people take their first glance at the C6 spy photos, they will be dissapointed because it looks just like a C5. However, the longer you look, the more you will find and the more excited you will get.
For Instance, when seeing the first spy photos I instantly noticed the C2 shape to the rear windshield, the creased fender arches, the pointed tapering to the front and rear fenders, and the subtle V-shape in the rear hatch.
After five minutes, I noticed that there was something fishy with the B-pillar and the roof, and that the nose and the tail looked ridiculously large and lumpy, which really raised my suspicions. After 10 minutes I decided that their had to be some kind of buildup of foam underneath the covers to make it look the a C5 and mis-lead people into thinking the c6 would be ugly, therefore, more people would buy up the last of he C5's.
I noticed on the spy photos taken @ the Canadian/US border that there was some major differences between the 2 C6's that you wouldn't realize @ first glance. The second C6 that is partially out of view (coincidence?) seemed to have a much shorter and higher up tail and a roofline that seemed lower than any other we have seen. This leads me to believe that that second C6 had covering on it but no foam. Maybe there is a reason that it is partially cutoff in each of the 3 pictures????
I think the Design of the C6 can become a lot clearer by taking a looking a the Cadillac XLR, the 2003 C5R, the Pontiac Solstice and that new European Concept car roadtster that is going to be based off the new Pontiac Solstice (Renault,Opel,Fiat???).
Look at the rear of the XLR and notice the length Width and Heigth. That has the same dimensions as the C6 but the C6 has more of a Solstice shape to the lower part of the rear (no rear bumper!!!). The 2003 C5R has a lot of design cues that I believe hint at the look of the C6. Notice That the nose has more of a slope to it and seems shorter than the 2002 version.
IMPORTANT!!!! Ithink that the lower half of the C6's nose could b very similar to what you see on the c5R, which would contradict speculation of C6 enthusiasts in these past few months (BKUPER for instance...) instead of that flat look to the lower half of the nose, I believ the C6 will recess the whole grill fascia and have a flat front splitter like that of the C5r.
I don't think anyone has hit the proverbial "nail-on-the-head" as far as the rear treatment goes. All I have seen thus far have had the tail being too wide and too far out with misproportioned details and no V to the decklid rear edge like Cfour has previously stated. I think the taillights might could have some sort of a trim ring around them and that recessed panel is not like the one seen on the tigershark, but like the one seen on Bkupers latest concept but with the top ledge continuing around to the sides of the rear.
Other than that, I have a couple small questions for CFOUR:
-Is the interior two-tone? It looks that way in the black NM C6 photo
-Are the rear taillights LED?
-Is the roof all glass with a B-pillar and roof supports underneath the glass? It seems that way in the pictures but I'm not sure how great that would look in real life.
Peace out. I just finished drawing a side profile of my interpretation of the C6 and today I'm getting started on the front an rear 3/4 views. I'll scan em and post em as soon as I'm finished.
