I am looking ahead to a spring or summer project namely replacing the suspension bushings on my 93. Has anyone bought/installed the polyurethane bushing kits (about $200) for a suspension system? What is the level of difficulty for the job? Is there a noticeable difference in the ride afterwards? I have a 4 post lift so getting underneath is not a problem.

My 93 has 130,000 miles on the clock and I thought it might be a good idea to swap the bushings. A visual inspection of the rubber bushings shows the usual surface cracks consistant with a vehicle in this mileage/age range but no really bad problems.

Thanks.

I did mine in last summer. i have totally apart both front and rear suspension. Removing the old ones are little painfull, you may need a torch to burn some rubber.

I used total kit by ebay ( www.neverenoughauto.com) search for their ebay shop, it was very cheap even for international shipment.

one piece fiber spring is easy to uninstall... the rest easy is very easy just take your time.:beer
BTW its a good time give a buff to all Aluminium parts ;) they look shiney after all.

First of all, I wouldn't replace the control arm bushings unless they show severe wear or failure.

Second...if you're considering urethane, know that 1) it increases right harshness and noise and 2) the majority of urethane bushings on the market will squeak in cold/damp weather and some of them squeak all the time. The best hedge against squeaking is graphite-impregnated urethane bushings but they are more expensive.

Lastly, when you inspect bushings, look not only at the fronts but look at the rears, too, the ones in the trailing arms and lateral links.
