Buying a Vette for the 1st Time

To begin with what would the factory call this eng?
It could not be called a LS6 or a LS1. :confused

Actually, it's ok. You don't need to post the links. I'd rather have solid proof, be it block numbers or whatever, in order to give it some credibility. Word of mouth isn't really good enough.
guess I'm highly skeptical of this, but I'm not writing it off just yet. Anything is possible. I'd just like to see something more official than a random post on a bulletin board.

Rob, I'm sure your familiar with the location of the stamped ID #'s on the old SBC. On the LS series, look at the right side of tthe block, to the front of the head, if it flat, it's a LS1. If it has a 1"x3' machined notch, then it's a LS6 short block. You still have ls1 heads and cam. Or you can pull the oil pan and then it's obvious.:)

as for buying a 'vette in the N.E. region, here's the lowdown on Corvette City...most of the C5's they sell are on consignment or people looking to get out of a lease...so you're gonna pay extra $$$ just for having the car just sit on their lot.
