C1 60 getting the tail pipe off the exhaust pipe so the body can be lifted...HELP

I need to remove the tail pipe that sticks out of the back of the bumper so that I can get the body lifted....BIG question...after I loosen the clamp bolts (no problem there), the til piipe is stuck beyond all words and adjectives to the rest of the exhaust pipe....anyone got a good way to get this bugger off??????

One of them would wiggle and I was able to put the clamp back on and use it near the lip as a pry surface for a screwdriver, but the last one....it is a bugger and it won't wiggle, won't budge.....don't have a torch....looks nearly impossible to cut the pipe with a hack saw...no room....so????????

Maby you could use a sharp chisel & big azz hammer to slice it open a bit.

Hi!

If you are not worrying about saving the pipe, you can use an air chisel. There is one chisel attachment that is designed for cutting metal. I use it on mine, but I planned on installing the correct type exhaust. I also believe that they make a spreader type device that clamps to each pipe and then works like a puller, I am not sure if you can rent it.

One word - sawzall. Of course you'll have to replace the pipe.

You can buy an air chisel at Walmart for about $25.00. You'll be able to peel the connections apart in 5 minutes. Just use short bursts and wear eye protection.

thanks to everyone that made suggestions...I had forgot that I had a Sawzall.....I had bought it at an auction and hadn't used it yet....went out got some blades and less than 30 seconds later the tip was off the exhaust pipe.....thanks again to everyone!!!!!
