Getting ready to attach my grab bar on the 61 and I just want to be sure... The grab bar sits on top of the grab bar brackets. The brackets don't have to fit inside the bar itself. If they do I'm in trouble. :confused

In the AIM it is hard for me to tell... That brings me to another point. Does anyone else have an AIM that looks like it has been copies about 40 generations away from the original?? I got mine from one of the catalog sources but some pages are almost nothing but very faint ghost images.

Hi! Gary

If I understand your question correctly the grab bar will set on the L-bracket and I believe torque or hex screws attach it to the grab bar. If you have installed a new bar cover insure that the chrome trim pieces will slide with out damaging the vinyl.

I have a very good copy of a 1961 AIM that I purchased off Ebay. The quality is outstanding and it may be an original or an early copy. I posted a picture of what I believe you would like to see. The picture is quite large and I will delete it as soon as you have the information you need.

is that enough ?

I tell you what I learned.powder the inside of the sleave up and then pull it on.when you try to push it on it bunches up.pull the ends so they hang off the ends. Then install your end caps and slide them to the center.then bunch up one end and slide it in place.

as always trim the minimum

Thanks Ray. I got the AIM page. You can delete it now.

The brackets go Outside the grab bar! The nut plate will sit on top of the bracket inside the grab bar.

If you look at the brackets, they have a counter sunk hole in them. This is for the screws to pass through and sit flush. The brackets must go Outside the bar for it to be installed correctly!

This is already done but thanks for the confirmation of the proper procedure.
