Hi,

Have question?

During one of the C2 Corvette Sting Ray model years, Chevrolet allowed optional air conditioning together with one of the high revving mechanical lifter engines and four speed transmission.
Also the techometer used was from hydralic lifter engine to discourage running the engine to high in RPM's because the pulleys would throw the belts.
What year:thanks: was this?

The RPO L-76 (327/365hp) engine was available with A/C in 1964 and 1965; that was the last time A/C was available with a solid-lifter engine until the LT-1 in 1972. The tachometer wasn't changed with the L-76-A/C combination - it remained with the 6500 rpm redline, and the A/C compressor used a much larger diameter pulley to slow it down at high engine rpm. The tachometer WAS changed to a lower hydraulic-lifter redline on the 1972 LT-1 with A/C. :thumb
