Since I now have to replace my fuel tank, what's the opinion of the crowd on whether I should buy a new sending unit as well?

The old one worked perfectly, but it is 41 yrs old. I've read a bunch of posts about new sending units failing shortly after installation. Is there one vendor over others that makes a more reliable and trouble free sending unit?

Thanks.

I just went thru this and decided after all I had read not to replace mine as it has worked fine for the last few years. They aren't that hard to change (if your original one fails) and if it ain't broke in this situation I'd just reinstall it... Dave..

Funny after looking at the other site it would seem I have esp b/c almost the same thing was posted....

Between both sites, it's 2 for the old and 0 for the new..... Do I sense a trend?
