Is it me or have C2 prices gone a little north since the Barret Jackson auction a few weeks ago?

Just for giggles and grins, I often check on C2 ads/prices on a couple of sites.
Focusing specifically (but not limited to) on 67 vettes, it seems that small block 67 prices are where big block prices were not too long ago.

Interestingly, I was reading this month's issue of "Vette Fever" and in an article there it said that GM produced 11,xxx big block midyears, today there are only 14,xxx left!
( I can't remember the exact numbers and it was my buddy's mag)

I realize that mid years are very desireable but will BJ be the barometer for C2 prices?

I have no interest in selling my mid year, but I'm amazed to see the recent turn of events and how impactful the media is.

The link below is one of the sites I was referring to.

Your thoughts..

Pedro long time no speak, I have allways said BJ scotsdale is the barometer of the car prices for the season,And yes it does give the sellers something to refer to when listing the cars at these increadably HIGH prices.

just about 8 out of 10 muscle car advertizements on ebay have some thing in there listing refering to BJ,

by the end of march I have to renew the collector car policies, this is the time I always look in to what my "Agreed Value" limits are and I will be printing out the results from Barret Jackson to up my limits again (just about the 3rd year in a row on the vette I had to adress this) I bought it for me because I wanted it,But now it seems it is appreceating greater then any of my other investment I have made over the years.

Larry,

I can relate to your perspective on the appreciation part. :D

Thanks for your comment.

Pedro

Hi Pedro

I know what you mean. Ive been keeping tabs on the '65 prices (because that's what I have) and prices from BJ, Proteamn, Mershons, and a number of other dealers that i use just as a rough guideline for prices have really climbed through the roof. Seeing what prices are now on similar cars to mine compared to last year at this time when I purchased mine is a real shock. i'm REALLY glad I was able to get mine last year instead of waiting.

Hi Barry,

It is impressive to see what has happened.
If they keep going up, I won't be able to afford mine! :L

Thanks for your comment.

I went to your web page. Your car is beautiful.
You sure picked a nice one.
Enjoy it, these cars are the stuff many people dream of.

I am fortunate to have mine..

If prices keep going up I might not be able to affford SELLING mine - it could become my retirement account!
i bought the car for pleasure, not investment, but it's surpassed everything else in value for the last year that i've owned it compared to my actual investments. Hell, maybe I should sell my stocks and cash in my IRA's to buy more Vettes
;LOL

Nah, if I did that than with my luck the whole Vette market would crash and everyone would blame me for it.

thanks for the nice words about my car. In a few weeks when it gets out of the paint shop it will look even better than those pics from last year
:)

Barry

PS. I just realized that I bought my car exactly this day last year so I'm a Vette owner for one full year now!
:)
