My vent window frames are pitted. Is it best to re-chrome OR purchase replacements? I've not seen any for sale with the typical suppliers so if you recommend purchasing replacements, would appreciate the name of one. Thanks -- Bill

Bill,

Whichever you choose to do, be sure to replace the surround weatherstrips if you have the vent windows apart. There is no way to install new weatherstrips without first removing the pivot rivet and then installing a replacement rivet.

When they're apart is the time to do it.

The vent window frames aren't reproduced - any you see for sale are either NOS, used, or restored used.

I sent my vent windows to Charlie Santoreli...something like that...in NJ. He has a little business that is seatbelt sity, chrome sity and something else. He replaced the vent window regulators, the rubber, re-chromed and everything. They look brand new.
