C4 Beam Plates for us power freaks

Seems like the comments originate mostly from draggers, but bennies await any car with loads of torque.

I have a set of those on my '85...great piece and I installed them when I had my exhaust off. I think it took about 45 minutes to install including cleaning the surface of years of grease and stuff.

My car tracks perfectly straight on WOT runs. I think there is a group purchase on the corvetteforum.com for those c4 beam plates too.

Great investment.

I use them extensively on my c4 customers cars. I suggest them to anyone with a c4.
Very nice, and extremely well made. Reduced driveline frequency by 1.37 hz. This is showing that it transmits less vibration to the car body.

Man, I really should take some initiative here and make my own damned beam plates; every time I look at the those things I simply cannot justify the cost. I mean, that's a hell of a lot of money for a couple of simple plates with nuts attached. My torque arm isn't showing that much wear (elongation or distortion) at the bolt holes and it's got over 105,000 miles on it, much of its early life on the track too.

Shoot, I reinstalled the torque arm torqued the bolts down earlier this afternoon, didn't bother with the beam plates. As I said before, my holes aren't that elongated that I can see. I ain't worried about it.

The ZR51 Performance C-Beam plates were not intended to solve a wear problem, ie: bolt-hole wear.

They were originally developed to make a ZR-1 or other C4 with a modified engine track straight under acceleration when there is a change in powertrain loading. On a drag strip pass, the plates prevent the little "side-step" a C4 makes at gear shifts.

Close examination will show that the beam plates are designed with certain features, both in construction and materials, which are necessary for this application.
