I am trying to properly fix my Console Lid on my 93. Does anyone have a good photo, from the PASSENGER SIDE, of how the lid should look if in GOOD condition.

The problem is that once I "fixed" the lid, the gap between the lid and console box ( as seen from pasenger side ) was very large. "Unfixed" the lid has began to separate and curl up on the passenger side.

If I know what it SHOULD look like I think I can fix the darn thing.

Thanks.

Lid Space

I cant believe it is as large as I saw after my "Fix" ....however, that is why I would like a good closeup of what a "Normal" one looks like so I have some idea of what I am delaing with ...

Thanks,

Rod.

Both Mid America and Ecklers catalog have decent pics of both...

Any ideas how to fix the lid? The foam is separating from my lid. I had one suggestion of using a hot glue gun to reglue it. Any other ideas???

The guys who made the seat covers for my 87 took a piece of material and wraped it around it and used a little heat to streach the material over the top and once the top was screwed back on it looked fine.

I would think that would work...

Let us know :m

Thanks for the idea. Hadn't thought of something like that. I would think it would look like new if done properly.

I had to fix mine a couple years ago. The passenger side came unbonded. The hot glue method does not work. It will work until one good sunny day and you are back to where you started from. What I did to fix it was to remove the metal hinge and the plate on the bottom side of the cover (you should just have the top vinyl cover with the molded plastic piece) and stretch the cover back to what the driver's side of the cover looks like and carefully drill the lip of the vinyl and plastic in about 6 equally spaced spots (Drill the inner lip of the vinyl cover on the bottom side of the cover. Be very careful not to drill through the outer layer of vinyl) and rivited the 6 spots. The driver's side is stapled in place. This is the only true way to fix the cover permanently. I can post pictures sometime next week for the fix if you want.

Console Door

Hi again , When I bought my 88 , the c-door caught my eye immediately, it was probably kneeled on and was crack inside badly. I slipped a piece of luan [wood] in there, a few screws, some glue around the edges and I looks like new UGLY.
