Hey Guys!

I have an early '86 with the iron heads. A little question about roller rockers here.....

I got a killer deal on a pair of trick flow 23 degree heads, and plan to use them on a rebuild down the line. Not ready to use 'em right now, but couldn't pass on the deal. Right now, I just have the time for smaller hop-ups.

My question is.....I wanna stick with the iron heads for now, and wanna put some roller rockers in there.

I wanna be able to use those same roller rockers (if possible) down the line when I do the rebuild and use the Trick Flows. What ratio should I get?

Thanks!

I went with 1.6 on my car. My brother also has 1.6 ratio harland sharp roller rockers. This also depends on what else you plan on doing.

Make sure you get the right size stud for your rockers 3/8 or 7/16 studs for the rollers.

roller tip rockers will reduce valve guide wear

tried both 1.5 and 1.6 with NO change 1/4 mile or mpg

'theoretical' ( i hate theories) increase of cam/lifter wear with 1.6

imho-go with the cam design intent

I have found Comp Cams to have great expertise and willingness to answer such questions. :w
