I'm C4, Lt1, 1995 owner. I bought my car with 14 000 miles and now It has 17000. I was changed engine oil and filter.
What else do I need to change?

How about:

air filter
coolant
tranny fluid
plugs
plug wires

There's more, but it's early and the brain isn't warmed up yet! LOL.

Enjoy it. Drive it awhile!:grinshot

Do your records show what has been done by the previous owner?

plugs

About plugs, I heard that I have to change it on 60000 miles. Is it true?

I would do plugs and wires well before 60,000 miles. But that's just me. To me, plugs are kind of like cheap insurance, they're inexpensive to do, just like oil changes and maintaining them won't break the bank. But if you let it go without properly maintaining them, it will break the bank to fix potential problems.

:upthumbs Welcome to :CAC

If your Vette only has 15K on it, don't worry about the plugs.

I do however agree with Edmond on the coolant & air filter. It would be good to flush and change the coolant and change the air filter. If it has a K&N air filter, just clean it.

Enjoy the ride . . .

I was change air filter with K&N. Problem with plugs is that here in Croatia is no corvette service and I have to change plugs alone but it looks very complicated!

My friend,

It will definitely be more satisfying doing the work yourself! I can't explain it, but when you do a job successfully, you get a smile on your face.

I've been told that the LT1/4 plus are a PITA though.

forget the plugs...

The transmission is important. If auto, change the ATF fluid--critical.
If manual, consider changing clutch fluid/man. trans. oil. But not
critical.

Fuel filter may be worth doing some time.

Brake fluid is probably worth doing--may have soaked up some
moisture by now.

air filter and antifreeze are musts. Heater core will corrode if
antifreeze is too old (happened to me, my car was 5 yrs old).

I just did the spark plugs and wires and complete tune up on my 94 corvette.

Replacing them can be a pain but if you just take your time and be patient with it, it goes fairly smoothly.

And yes it can be a lot of fun (with friends swearing along with you) and it feels a lot better to do them yourself.

Plus, nobody cares about your car like you do. To everyone else it is just a job and another customer. TRUST ME: do the work yourself.

1. Don't forget the PCV! Driver's side, top, under the injector cover. About center of plenum.

2. Check out the back of the intake manifold. Does it look wet with oil where it joins with the block....bet it does..........bet you've got some oil on the pan..........if so, time for manifold gaskets and goop, more than likely!

3. Do yourself a BIG favor and check both ends of the wiring harness that goes from the opti-spark (10:00 position looking from the front of the car) to about the mid-point of the plenum on the passenger's side, under the injector cover. The plenum end is a test point. Detach from both ends. If the pins and receptacles on BOTH ends are not corroded (bluish, white powdered crap) you are in great shape. BTW, that harness is only about 18" long. The cost of replacement is about $6.95 an inch, U.S. :-(

hi drazen-just a word of caution-don't let that opti get wet -if and when you change the coolant. When i first got my '93 I had over heating problems and flushed my system when i changed the thermostat.I got the opti wet and thought it was dry but got caught on the interstate a month later and 110 miles from home.My suggestion is to bleed the air out of the system very carefully and covering the opti by stuffing rags under the bleed valve and opening that valve very slowly hope this helps Dennis :w
