Has anyone else experienced a problem with high pressure line from pump to rack developing a circumferential crack inside the flare nut, just above the flange?

Two have failed in identical manner, within a four month period. Both were properly installed, torqued to spec, with supporting fastener in place. This is a track car; subject to rough service.

Has anyone identified the cause and found a fix?

Alternatively, has anyone found a source for a custom made line to replace the stock line? None of the usual hydraulic sources I have tried can source the fitings to make up a line.

What year is your Vette? I have a 96 that had the same problem, the dealer replaced the hose three times before they figured out that there had been a change to a different part number sometime in 93 or 94, had something to do with eliminating the cooler and changing to a heavier-duty hose. Once they got the right part number on, it hasn't failed in over a year of track/autocross use.

This is a 96 LT4 also. Was your problem also in the same place - at the flare nut on the output side of the pump?

I am a little unclear about what you are saying about eliminating the cooler, as it is on the return side of the circuit (between the rack and the reservoir).

Thanks for you time. Any additional info you have (i.e. part numbers) would be appreciated.
