Since owning an 86 C4 now for three months I've notice my driveway is a little cleaner and it's because my vette is sucking everything up the opening in the front. My AC core looks like a leave display in a grade school class room. If anyone else out there has this problem I have an answer. If not I must have the only hoover vette made. Please if someone else has all ready addressed this problem forgive me for being uninformed

It is an area that must be looked at occasionally, once a year wouldn't hurt. The accumulation of debris that collects in the area between the radiator and the air conditioning condenser and the shroud would simply amaze you. Of course, the Corvette is a "bottom breather" so it's one of those things with which we must deal. :eyerole

Ken , I have met the enemy and they are MINE. I have design a grille that works. You can't even see it unless you a snake looking up. It is working very well. I live in an area where there are lots of leaves. I'm Happy...... Bob

Well..........SHOW US A PIC!!!!!:w

Or at least tell us what you've done!

OK here goes. I went to the hardware store and purchased a roll of hardware cloth . I made a pattern from cardboard of the front openning. Rolled out the cloth ( which by the way some people call it chicken wire) . Placed the cardboard pattern on the cloth and with a black marker traced the pattern. Take a pair of side cutters and cut the pattern out. Hopefully the squares will come out even where you've made your cuts. Take the cut piece place the top edge in the top part of the openning between the nose and the inner crash piece.Try to get one row of squares in. then fold the rest into the shape of your openning. At the bottom I was able to get 3 of the fastner screws to hold it in place. I painted mine with black plasti-dip spary. So far it has worked great. I guess now I'll see this in an after market vette parts book and lose out like I did on the hula hoop... Just kidding. Hope I wasn't to confusing. I work better with my hands than this keyboard . Boy do I mis spell check !

OH heck I for got to tell you to make you cuts on the cloth one roll of squares bigger at the top an bottom. I hope Santa brings me a digital camera. (are you listen Santa, I've been good) pictures would be better.

Sounds like a job well done Bob. Thanks for letting us in on that. :upthumbs

Is there an easy way to get between those 2 parts? (radiator--condenser) I dropped the screw from my air cleaner intake manifold down there. I looked underneath and it looked like a million screws.
John.

Heyspike... Your in trouble. The spot you speak of likes to keep things. There are holes in the raditor cradle. I know of one on the passenger side towards the bottom of the raditor on the engine side you might get lucky and take a small magnet and pull it through. Its hard to believe that it could get in this part of the engine compartment ,but it could I guess. I know one time I drop a spacer that went in back of a pulley and thought it stayed in the car only to found months later as I was cleaning my garage that it was under my tool box 5 ft. away from were I was working. Just take your time and study were it could be and use that magnet to get in places you can't see. Good Luck !!!! Bob
