C4 versus C5 ????????????

Again thanks for all of your input it is more meaningful to me then any review period.

The only thing that l have to do is get rid of my C4 first because my bride thinks that l will pick up a C5 and also keep the C4 around. She is not far from the truth but l only have a two car garage and her car takes one space..

It really is tough getting rid of my C4 because it cost me nothing to run except normal maint and if l pick up a problem my bride is going to HeeHaw me for years. I know, don't tell her but l get nutso when something is not going right.

I will keep you posted, my target is 2001 coupe/ auto.

I have both (in addition to two mid years) a 96 GS vert and a 2002 EB 6-sp. coupe. The difference in body integrity is astounding. If you can hang on to the C4, do it, and join the ranks.:upthumbs

One major problem !!!!!!!!!

The problem is that l only have a 2 car garage and one space is for my bride. My third car is a volvo wagon for my hobbies and my dog so a second vette is out of the question. I would never keep it outside living in the North-east.

When l find and buy a second home down south then l have wiggle room, but until then it's only one vette at a time.

Now if l owned a GS, l wouldn't be looking for a C5.

I sold my '96 last summer and bought a mint, low-mile '97. I have had absolutely no regrets. As others have already mentioned, the difference is like night and day. Unless you absolutely love the looks of the C4 and cannot bring yourself to sell it, go for the C-5 - you won't regret it.

great to hear

I really do not think there is a bad year or series except maybe the 78/82's and they were still fun at the time.

My 64 rode like a truck, and my 68 was an oven and to listen to the radio was out of the question. My 76 felt fast back then but today l can laugh about it.

Now my 96 is more refined and l am sure a lot faster but at the time l felt they all were the same.

What l want is to feel like l am in a sports car and not a lux crusier.

But the C5 is a lot easier to get into and out of bcause of the lower sill.

I have bought four C4's since 2001 - all of them can outperform the C5's in all things except trunk space :m

Room for my copilot!!!!!!!!!!

That is important for my golden retriever, cargo space.

But again you are running Calloway's.

Now, now, Dwayne. No need for sarcasm. Play nice with my fellow Moderators, please.

...actually, having driven more than a fair share of C5's and C6's, I have continued to stick w/ the C4's, buying even more - some at costs equal to or greater than the cost of a used C5 of any year.

I guess my point is, I could have had a more rigid car (C5) or the ones I do have - I think my cars virtues outweigh that one point (two, if you count storage ;) ) and none are bad in the handling dept. :crazy

...as they say, to each their own :beer
