C4C5Specialist - 2004 FE4 Shocks?

I'm getting ready to replace my FE3 (Z51) shocks. Would you recommend Bilstein Sports, or the new Z06 (FE4) shocks as a replacement?:confused

I took a look at the thread on that corvettemechanic site. The FE4 shocks for MY04 are different but the difference is not "nitrogen preload". It's all valving. c4c5Specialist, As I'm researching this issue right now for a magazine article, I've got a ton of information on it from Mike Neal. if you want it, email me privately.

Also, there are two other changes to the 04 Z06 suspension tuning that also contribute to the car's improved, at-limit handling: new front upper control arm bushings and new rear stabilizer bar mounts.

I had the 2004 Z06 shocks put on my car. I can highly recommend them as an excellent mod.

I have seen various vendors now sell them on GP as low as 350 dollars delivered. I paid about a 100 more because of my impatience to get this mod done..

And you know what?

It was worth every dime.

I dig this mod and highly recommend it. About the only time I would suggest the bilstiens which are about the same price is if you are dramatically lowering the car..

I've heard from many the bilstiens are better suited to drastic lowering..(1 to 1.5 inch )

If you plan on staying stock height or staying within the GM directive of lowing no more than the recommended 15mm's ...

I would suggest the 2004 z06 shocks..
