OK Guys I'm going to move up looking at 2000 C5's what do I need to be aware of any common problems, what sticks out that I might look for? It will probably be next year before I purchase so I just want to get my ducks in a row now.

Her's a few:

there was a major software upgrade to the C5's computers in 2001 - mainly with the Active Handling performance.

Active Handling became standard equipment in model year 2001. Before that it was an option. All C5's have Traction Control; but don't get fooled by year 2000 or older C5's that have TC only (and not the then-optional AH)... assuming that may be important to you.

a couple of other common things (at least on the '98):

1) the oil pressure sending units go bad, giving you a reading of 80 or (130 on the DIC).

2) misc fuel guage problems.

the c5 is an awesome car, good luck with your search...you're going to love it.
