C5 Airconditioner

Found quite a bit of water on the passenger side floorboard yesterday. Looks like it is coming from the airconditioner. I will take it in on Monday, but was wondering if anyone has had this on their C5?

Water is always a by-product (condensation) of a/c operation. The real question is why the water was on the passenger footwell. Definitely something for the dealer to look at.

Hi there,
They will probably have to clear the drain, located on the passenger side of the engine compartment.
I would not run the air until this is repaired, as you could damage the BCM located under the passenger side toe board.

been there ......the NCM let me borrow their lift when I had to unclog mine

Should the rest of us be cleaning away junk on a regular basis so this does not happen to us?

If so, where on the car?

Not sure where the drain is. They said you have to get under the car to perform the work. It will be obvious when the drain begins to overflow because the water will come out onto the passenger side floor. Turn the AC off because there are some electrical components behind the access panel on the passenger side floor. It must become contaminated fairly easily because although my car is five years old it only has 32K.

snip the end of the tube off,
you can pull the battery and the plastic shroud to get at it from the top .
it's on the passenger side firewall.
