I just had a 3.42 diff installed in my 98 convertible (automatic)and I can't calibrate my speedo with the HYPERTECH programer because it only allows you to select 2.72 and 3.15. DUH!

Anyone know of a way to calibrate the speedo to it's correct setting???

Help!!

Tom

My buddy just picked up the Predator. He got it off the Corvette Forum and said the guy who sells them is very cool. Idid the same mod as you and the guy sent him all the correct programing....

Big change

Was it worth the change from 2:73 to 3:42? Did you notice a big gain? Also what rpm's are you turning on the hi way? Thank's for any info.

To me the change seemed appropriate. I had a leaky gasket on the 2.73 and it had to be pulled to fix it. So labours was already factored into the cost.

Mechanic says he has a brand new Z06 3.43 for sale with 500 miles on it from a guy who just bought it and put a 3.73 in it.
So he sells me the Z06 for a good price...remember labour was already there to fix the old one. So I told him to drop it in.

I was skeptical at first but the difference is really noticeable off the line. IT KICKS BUTT and really hauls ass to 100.

RPM has increased by about 500 so I don't really care if I lost some on the top end since I don't go 170mph that often anyway.

Off the line racing is more fun anyway.

Was it worth it...hell yes I love it. Remember I have a automatic as well so it gave it a nice shot in the arm.

I don't think you have to recalibrate the speedo, from what I been told there is a gear in the rear thats the same no matter what gears you have the speedo will always be right , I asked Mike Mercury about this he sent me an email explaining the whole thing , I can forward if you want, Jim.
