I'd like to get my C5 up on jacks in order to take off the wheels and clean them. With some other things I would like to do, I would like to get at least 1 side up at a time, if not both.

The question is, if I use a floor jack positioned at the lifting point, where do I place the jack stand...or shoud I position the floor jack under the A Frame and place the stand @ the lifting point?

Thanks.

Tom

I take my wheels off to clean them and the wheel wells. I use my floor jack and jack stands. To get under the front I have to drive up on a couple of 2x6's and slide the floor jack under the cross member then place the jackstands on either side of the jack. In short, I do the fronts then the backs. I have put the whole car up on stands that way also. I usually use a small piece of wood in-between the stands and cross-member to keep from scratching up the metal.

Thanks Scott.

F > R actually makes more sense to me than L > R because the lifting would not wrack the body. I'll give it a try.
