Anybody know if C5 seats can retro-fit into a C4. If not any suggestions on a good replacement seat

Yes they will fit

BUT

They sit higher up and will make your life suck if you do any racing with a helmet, or are tall.

The lateral support they provide sucks.

You can get a set of 94-96 sport seats for a decent price and they support you for racing and provide comfort for long trips.

Thanks. I do not racve and being 5'7", being tall is not a worry....
Actaully sitting higher would help

Hmm.. I thought I read that C4 and C3 seats can be changed since the tracks have the same mounting points, and GM changed the mounting points for the C5? I could be wrong. But in any case you would sit higher and you would have to modify the seat track to lower you down.

their are several aftermarket seats that will fit, and some look pretty good, plus a few of em are cheaper than c4 seats.

Their was a thread on one of the other forms a couple weeks back. (Try a search) Plus their was an older C4 on e-bay with aftermaket seats, I forget the names, sparco, forza, recaro, (spelling) some of em won't lay back, and stay in a fixed position.
check for hand brake clearance also.
good luck.

I put a set of Corbeau A-4's in my 89
Hand brake is fine and the seat recline

Those look good, are they comfortable? They look kind of hard.

Very comfortable. I could drive to So. Cal eazy (~350 miles)

Coupe89,

can you post some more pictures of your seats? Im very intrested in the Corbeau seats.

Did they give you any extra leg & head room?

I fit fine in my C4 but in the winter if I wear boots (like Timberlands) I feel kind of cramped.

:cry

And do you know how much they weigh?

And what all did you have to do to install them?

The leg room is the same.

The head room in mine is a little less because I used the power seat units with some metal strips to create my own mounts.
Have to take into account the parking brake and seat belts.

The Corbeau seat mounts were off the mark for the A4's

Weight: I didn't weight them but they are alot lighter then the stock seats

What type of photos would you like ?

thanks for the info. if you can supply some pics of the seats from a wider angle and mabey some more interior photos that would be great.
