C5 Targa roof rattles and groans.

Does anyone know if there are adjustments to the roof handle locks? My roof just started groaning and rattling about 4 weeks ago and it's driving me insane. If there are, can you please tell me the tools necessary and ho to do it? Thanks a bunch, and here's my "WAVE" !

Hi there,
Yes, you can adjust the 2 front roof strikers, which are held by 10mm bolts.
Simply retorque when adjusting them is through.
Usually they are moved down about 3mm.

Do I have to use shims to move them? What would make them change so the roof starts making noise? What is the torque lbs? Do I move them right/left or up/down? You can tell I'm not more than a shade tree mechanic. Should I take it to the dealer? If I do how long will it take them to fix in mechanic hours $$$ ???

Hi there,
No, you dont need any shims, they simply move up and down.
Torque is 89 in lbs
You will move them down.
If you took it to the dealer, you will probably be charged one hour.
