C6 Convertable Production date

Please forgive if this has been mentioned here, but remember when we were told the Vert would follow the targa production by about 6 months? Apparently not so. A statement / leak from the BG production department says C6 ragtops go into production at the same time as the coupes but only ragtops ordered with the manual top. The power top is, at this moment on constraint.

Maybe the Z06 will be available earlier too???! ...certainly NOT before the January introduction, but after that - who knows?

Manual Top

My '64 (sold when I was in the Army and couldn't afford to keep it) and my '88 were/are both convertables, of course with manual tops. I'm going for a manual top when I get a C6. I don't think $2K for an automatic top is worth it. I'd rather spend that towards other options. Looking forward to a little trunk space, even when the top is down. Even when it's up on the '88 there is very little space. My wife and I traveled to Bowling Green for the 50th last year and it was tight!

two grand for a power top aint cheap thats for sure. Its a nice feature but I cant blame you for skipping that option ..plus you get your car sooner!

Yes, this is true, and its going to be very interesting because most of the people I talk to want the vert.
