Okay, Hib...I just ordered a new Subscription online at Hemmings...I'm very much looking forward to one of your usual insightful pieces.

Mr Kutta: It appears you have some doubt aboutwhat I saw or didn't see. I'll be more than happy to answer any questions you or anyone else may have. I did NOT state, "The engine was clearly not a Gen IV." So kindly stop mis-quoting me.

LongTimer,

At the time Zippy saw the 472hp engine, how many people (Zippy?)
knew what a Gen IV looked like or how it would differ from Gen III??
The "truck" version was just announced this month and the "car"
version has yet to be announced. For him to say that "the engine
he saw was clearly not a Gen IV" fails a very basic logic test.
To say that a normal LS6 was putting out that kind of hp makes
no sense either.

I'm just looking for stories that make some sense. This one
is completely internally inconsistent.

By the way, this is just like the "delayed frame" debate. People
make plausible statements and then backtrack with these implausible
stories. The C6 frame is either steel or aluminum and there is virtually
no way they made a steel frame for a year or two and an aluminum one
for the later years. The frames are different sizes and require different
tooling. If they planned on aluminum and the aluminum is on hold then the
whole program is in deep do-do.

Zippy,

I'm quoting LongTimer who claims to be quoting
you. I apologize if he was mistaken, and therefore,
I was also mistaken.

LongTimer,

What's up with your bum quote??
