Last night...all the people in my club gathered around the head salesman who gave a little (and I do mean little) talk on the C6. Seems like the dealership's owner was invited to the private showing of the new cars in california. He was sitting 20 yards away from the C6. It was on a turnstile. He told the salesman that the five white coupes running around are C5's with a lot of camo on them, were decoys and that the C6 looks nothing like them. Found it to be an interesting meeting. Of course I had to ask: Club members get GMS pricing on C6's? Everybody had a pretty good chuckle on that one!! :L

Damn. I knew I should have stayed a member of the CCA, it's just a pain in the butt getting up that damn Beltway at rush hour to get to a meeting. :(

SEE!? Now what did I say!? GM was going to release a C6 that was going to completely shock people and blow their shorts off. ;LOL

...now don't make me a liar GM! :L

Very interesting. Thanks for the write-up. I've been thinking (uh-oh, watch out).....has GM already shown us the C6 in a round-about way? I've been looking at the Solstice for many months now and I think that this is where GM might go with the C6. The obvious, of course, is the XLR.....but I don't know if GM is going to go with the "obvious" this time. But someone did mention that the C6 is going to be evolutionary and not revolutionary. I just don't know!:confused All I do know is that I want to see the C6 badly!:mad

The "round-about way" theory is probably true. My $.02 is that the styling will be a mix of the Chevy SS, the Pontiac Solstice and the Caddy Cien. The SS is the sexiest one of the bunch IMHO, and I hope to see a lot of similarity between it and the C6. I would like a nicer front end, though.

Greg

Solstice....long wheelbase, short overhangs, back glass sloped to the edge of the rear-end....sounds like the same things that the C6 is "supposed" to have. I agree with "LMN8R" on the SS Concept as well. To me, that looks like a sexy, larger version of the Solstice.....which could very well be the basis of the C6. Only time will tell......

Question: Did you all go through that same drama with the intro of the C5? I've always been a Corvette lover (my Dad had a '71) but I didn't realize how serious the intro of a new generation is until I bought my car a year ago. I've become a very avid Corvette enthusiast. I mean I'm going nuts over here...dying to see a glimpse of this C6!:J Are all new gen' intro's this well kept of a secret?

???????????????????????????????????

Hi

The C6 on the outside is still anybody's guess, the interior is spposed to be for the first time top notch. Thanks to the Caddy division.

But the running gear is going to be a tease for the 2006, which will blow all of us away.

l really think that the major problem with the Corvette is the fit and finish period. l would hate to spend $50 big ones on a car with a cheap interior.

The hp increase means nothing to me because going from the 06
or even a hot LT4 could only be judged by a timer.

"The five white cars are C5s with cammo" Yea right and I have a 16 inch ()()====D !

Well look at it this way. If they could test the LS1 in Camaros and test the C5 interior in C4 ZR1 corvettes, then anything is possible. For all we know, There could be some left over Camaros with LS2 engines and XLR mules with C6 interiors. When GM is ready to let us sneek a peak at the C6, they will pull up her dress and give us all a good hard look. As I had stated in previous post, the C6 will be a true American sportscar with great styling and performance. January 10th is only 5.5 months away. Until then we will be teased, confused, irritated, amazed and concerned.

"REMEMBER: THERE'S NO FEEL, LIKE THE FEEL BEHIND THE WHEEL." God bless Chevrolet!!!!!!!!!!!

:Twist :_rock :dance :pat :Steer ;LOL

HA HA HA... now that's confusing. Should I change my SIG?:D

Remember the Fat Lady!!!!!!!!!!!

For all we know Lutz, can make late minute changes, and by this l mean if he felt negative vibes, he could alter some things if he started in July.

Don't EVER believe dealers, Listen to what the real INSIDERS have to say. They know what they are talking about;worship
Umm, we have one Community Dealer here and a couple Community Brokers. I would trust anything they told me - which is the reason why they are members of this community. Not ALL dealers are evil people.

Last but not least, please do not substitute numerals or any other characters if you're plannning on cursing in your posts. Keep it clean please.

Sorry...
[revised post]:That's a load of crap. You shouldn't believe ecerything a dealer says. Yes, there are many great dealers who do know what they are talking about and can actually inform us of truthful information not known by the public. Then you have some dealers who don't know what they are talking about and the public believes it. that's the case here.
The 5 white "decoys" are not decoys, they are the real C6 PILOT VEHICLES!!! They are NOT camouflaged C5's, Camaro's or XLR's.
YOU ARE LOOKING AT THE FINALIZED C6, THAT"S IT, It Is NOT GOING TO CHANGE.
Yeah, it look's like a C5, It's supposed to. The camo is supposed to throw people off by making them think that the C6 is going to have the same basic shape as the C5. It doesn't, It looks a helluva lot sexier.
How do I know this?? I DON'T!!!
I am telling you my educated guess...except I think about this thing all the time. I am constantly finding myself taking my folder of C6 spy photos with me to whereever I go. I'm not saying I know more than anyone else here, I just have a really good feeling about the C6.
Personally I don't believe in dealers that I don't know. This arizonian dealer hasn't given me a reason to trust him.

The Good, Bad and the Ugly!!!!!!!!!!

As much as l do not like most dealer's, there are terrific one's out there so let's not bash them!

My dealer is alway's there for me and really goes out of the way for me and most of the time there is no charge.

99 percent of the time it's not the dealership but the people working there.

We are talking about a Chevy dealership, not a high line car dealership.

Alan

when talking about dealers we have to understand that the dealer has no control over what a salesman tells clients all the time.I was shopping around for a 2003 special anniversary edition pace-car and low and behold the salesman had "ordered" one for me.....CONVERTIBLE TOO !!!!Heck he was going to get me one with the z06 engine. As we all know the car was never produced and I never got it.This same salesman was advertising the 2003 models with a picture of that retro-repruction thingamajig under the dealer's ads. This just goes to show you that salesmen will say anything to get your attention,down-payment or purchase order.

Do any of you work for GM or Chevy? If you do tell us about the C6 and what it really looks like! Only conjecture! All I did was throw out what one of the top selling Chevy dealer owner said about seeing the C6 in person at the Legion of Executives show in San Diego a couple months ago. Take it for what YOU think it's worth. If you want to compare it to your penis size, then you have taken it for what you think it's worth. And no GM or Chevy insider is going to tell you about or show you the C6. They like their jobs and if you don't think GM or Chevy will fire them for letting loose the info...think again. Saw the info taken down and gone from too many sites and people who thought they would be protected behind a false handle or name that gave out some info suddenly are gone after two to three posts. Like I said take it for what you think it's worth, doesn't matter to me.

Don't let it bother you msiska. Cfour is just out making friends again!:L

Its been a long hard day & this comment had me rolling !

"Take it for what YOU think it's worth. If you want to compare it to your penis size, then you have taken it for what you think it's worth. " Miksa quote

Mike, Great post and thanks for the laughs.

A few more months and we'll all know what the C6 looks like for sure. Same goes for technical improvements.

Till then we can all just shoot the breeze.

Have a good one

BTW..Happy BIrthday Msika!
