I have noticed (and been there) that a lot of C5's and Z06's are going to the dealer's service with trans probs. My first was five weeks ago when I lost 5th gear. Replaced under warranty. Then 3rd gear went away. The dealer replaced 3rd/4th/synchros and I had them put in a steel shift fork. I know of a lot of other people that have this issue also. I was talking with my vette technician at shop night last night and he told me with all the carbonfiber synchros and aluminum shiftforks, chevy wanted to mak the trans light and easy to shift instead of using brass or metal synchros to make it durable. Now to the point...I hope chevy takes this into account when they up the HP of the C6 and C6Z06!!

Hey Mike, you might want to try disengaging the clutch before you shift gears. ;LOL

Sorry...couldn't resist. :D

tip tronic???? NOOOOOOOOOO WAYYYYYYYYYYY my friend has an audi with tip tronic it takes the fun out of a manual

The new GM tranny tiptronic type has yaw sensors like MB AMG lineup...its not bad and holds the gears longer as the Automatic car dives into the corner...

I would prefer the Dual Clutch Sequential shift technology but GM's not ready to offer this cutting edge technology...

Dave Hills stated he is not impressed with Ferraris sequential shifter but that Audi and Porsches dual clutch sequentials have him considering it for future Vettes..

Its an amazing technology that would get me buying again...

and many others
