OK....I picked the tires now just need the wheels and this is a delema.

The tires are going to be Eagle F1 Supercar EMT (sorry gotta have the EMT's for piece of mind)
Sizes:
Front 245/40YR 18
Rear 285/35/YR19

Specs say fronts have a measured rim width of 8.5 " and rears are 10" I can't find rims in these widths the rim width range for these tires are 8-9.5" front and 9.5-11" rear, the C6 ZO6 rims I can find are at the high end of this range. Is this OK? or will I experience loss of handling, shimmy, wander or any other road/tire type problems? I love the way my C5 tracks now and hate to loose that. I may have to bite the bullet and stay with the stock size wheels and tires.

I would like to hear from others that have put new +1 size wheels and rims on their C5.

Thanks,

Blueman

C6 Z06 sizes are 275/35/18 front and 325/30/19 rear. 18 x 9.5 front , 19x12 rear.

Hi.

Just upgraded my C5, but did not go the 18"/19" route (I wanted to maintain a smoother ride and greater adhesion on uneven surfaces). I know that you are looking for 18”/19” guidance, but for “****s and giggles”, I’ll share with you what I did.

Initially, I did some research, found a race shop, and received some guidance. First, I found rims aligned with C5 Z06 specs. Sizes were 17X9.5 and 18X10.5. I selected polished aluminum because I’ve been told that the chrome can separate over time and cause nuisance inflation issues. The rims are from SlickCar.com and run about $200 per copy. The quality of the rims is decent, however, they are not hub-centric (try as I might, could not find hub-centric – should not be a problem unless I decide to race seriously).

For tires, I selected Michelin Pilot Sport PS2s. These were recommend by the race shop because the tire quality is good, they consistently produce very good Force Measurement values (20 pounds or less), they are non-directional (so they can be rotated side to side, they are not run-flats (for a more comfortable ride – remember you have pressure sensors), and they are advertised as having good dry and wet traction. The sizes I selected were 275/40R17 and 295/35R18.

The tire/rim combination looks good and seems to work well in the water. Haven’t really tested the combination at high speed and will wait to do so until I arrange for track time.

Good luck!
