I have a 2006 C6 MN6 and have a real idle issue. After the car reaches a certain temp, the idle screams up to 2200 rpm's and hangs there. If I tap the gas it comes down VERY slowly to about 1100 rpms. It cruises fine but when I depress the clutch to downshift it surges back and forth from 700 to 1100 rpm's. Then when I stop, it immediately goes up to 2200 and stays until I engage the clutch to go at which time it comes back down to normal. It is driving me nuts. I have been told that it is a calibration problem and that GM will have a fix. Everytime it is hooked up to the computer, it reads "vacuum leak" but no one has found that yet. Has anybody experienced this or have a clue as to what I can do. It is extremely annoying to say the least. Thanks for any help.

HI there,
Possible, but there is NOT any reading for vacuum leak, it would just be data that the technician reads.
Have you ever had a time when the brakes see not as easy to use/stiffness in the brake pedal????
I would suggest that you have them check the vacuum brake booster to see if its leaking.
That would give a very massive vacuum leak and may NOT always show itself.
Calibration is possible, but if there is a vacuum leak, no program in the world will help you.

Thanks so much for your help. I am going to have that checked out tomorrow.
