The problem with those calipers is they don't replace the pistons. The pistons corrode more than the bores. When they originally started selling rebuilt calipers they didn't have enough cores so they were putting new overseas calipers in the boxes.
Would anyone be interested in a CAC caliper sale? Here's what I can do.
Rebuilt calipers will SS sleeves, new pistons, seals, bleeders, and pressure tested. These calipers come from the #1 rebuilder who supplies all the major companies. $65.00 + core charge of $40 each.
Brand new Delco Moraine calipers licenced thru the GM Restoration Program.
Normally $124.95. Sale price $114.95 No core required. I will buy your rebuildable cores for $25.00 each.
My experience with Auto Zone has been very positive. I've purchased at least 6 or 7 complete sets and they are stainless steel sleeved and all had new pistons. Check the box when you buy them and look for the label saying stainless sleeved. The counter guys have no idea what that means and will probably tell you they're not. You can't beat the price and lifetime guarantee. Just my $.02. Fred
My invoice says $54.99 plus $34.00 core tax $7.12 shipped free. ordered on the
13th got em today the 15th I'm excited! The downer at this point is painting them will void the warranty I would've bought a set but I only need one and I couldn't justify a set at this point one of the others appears to be new
Mike, the last set I purchased 7/2005 were $61.99 for the C138 and 139. The other (rears I believe) were $54.99 C140 and 141. I checked back to 2000 and the price
changed about $2.00 from then to now. Hope this helps. Fred
