Pardon my ignorance guys but can anyone tell me what the car in the attached pic is? I know it's similar to the LeMans C4 but is it a bodykit that can be bought?

I'd imagine it's mega-expensive if it comes form Callaway but I'm sure I remember seeing a C4 (on Ebay???) for sale for reasonable money kitted out like this - anyone else remember?

I usually think a vette looks good enough stock but if there are two ways to improve the looks of a C4 i think the aerobody and especially the LeMans C4 look the part.

Malc that is a Callaway LM I believe that only 5 were built . We had one at Carlilse last year . they are based on the zr1 490 hp Very nice on the eyes.

LeMans body

Damn, better stop saving then! Shame you can't buy the kit, or even just the hood.

Speaking of LM Hoods...

We saw a LM hood at "Final Finish" on a recent Callaway deTour la Connecticut. I think everyone almost forgot about it because the SUV race was very exciting. :)

Thats not 100 % true. Only one was a ZR-1 baised car. The other 4 are Supernatural 383 cars. The car pictured is a friends of mines car. The picture does not do that car justice.

I myself would like to know more about this rare beast. I remember clearly when it made the cover of Road & Track magazine around 8yrs ago. So its my understanding that Callaway doesn't produce this body kit any longer. More likely the most expensive body upgrade Callaway ever offered. Any detailed info would be appreciative. Thanks

Johnny, It was built on a per car basis around the race teams needs - Callaway Cars has "spares" however, I would imagine the policy is to keep them for existing cars , should they (God forbid) be needed...
Here is a roadtest article froom Motorweek . Enjoy :beer http://www.mpt.org/motorweek/reviews/vettlm.html

I did have a nice write up by my friend who has the blue one pictured, unfortunitly it is on a web site that I made but have since gave up and the information seems to have been lost. I am still trying to find it though.

Callaway Cars website has a movie online of your friends car - I cannot seem to get it to go :( I would LOVE to see that car is full action :) http://www.callawaycars.com/Files/lm.mov

I've watched that vid awhile ago ad it takes a while to get going. The video is a 360 degree picture of the car. Last I saw it wasn't a vid of the car driving.

Chris- I think the simulation that Callaway has/had loaded was a "Quicktime" plug-in. It's been about a year since I played with it.

I've exchanged emails with the guy who owns that blue LM above...he's got several other Callaway's.....

Dave

He is a very good friend of mine and his collection is outstanding
